Ice painting gives children the opportunity to explore color mixing, patterns and feel the texture of slippery, cold, wet paint.
This activity is also great for developing fine and gross motor skills and control.
This is the first time we have tried this painting technique and it offers a rich sensory experience that is perfect for young children.
We will need:
-Containers
-Children’s paints or food coloring mixed
-Paper
Instructions:
Pour paint into the container to a depth of at least 1cm. and freeze it.
Cover a table with paper. This will give a large canvas to really enjoy and explore the painting.
When the colored water has frozen, press the edges of the container to begin loosening the frozen blocks of paint.
Time to start painting!
